Do weight training:

High tension workout:

Weight training with heavy weights and low amount of repetitions is also called as high tension workout.  Lifting heavy weights is the quickest and simplest way of gaining muscle mass, as long as you do not over train it. The efficiency of high tension can be explained by the biomechanics involved in this method. When you lift heavy weights, the muscle contractions achieved are stronger. Stronger the muscle contractions, the faster the muscle gain is going to be. But one should guard against over training. While doing weight training, two important factors are responsible for muscle gain. They are proper sleep and rest period. If you are doing weight training, it is important to sleep for at least seven hours without interruption.

Progressive overload:

This is yet another fancy name given to the weight training method. In progressive method, what you do is increase the intensity of workouts at regular intervals. For example, you start weight training with fifteen kg weights, after training for two weeks gradually increase the weight to twenty kg and so on. One must not go back and forth instead go progressively.

No need to worry about expensive gyms:

Many people have this false belief that one must go to an expensive gym to gain muscle fast. If you believe so, then it might be worth remembering the well built physique of many prisoners. Prison gyms are one of the simplest and low tech gyms you can find around the world. And the prisoners do not have the luxury of eating high protein diets yet they maintain a good physique. From this it would be wise to conclude that, anyone can gain muscle mass quickly if they do weight training and do proper reps without any cheating. Then allowing enough time for recovery of muscles and adequate sleep are the only essential requirements for gaining muscle fast.
